MOT graduate schools across the country share the achievements of convergence technology commercialization in Busan

The '2nd MOT conference group' event hosted by the Ministry of trade, industry and energy and co-hosted by the Korea institute for advancement of technology (KIAT, president Seok Yeong-Cheol) and Pukyong National University Graduate School of Management of Technology (dean Lee Woon-Sik) was held on the afternoon of June 30th at Capri Hall on the 2nd floor of Paradise hotel in Haeundae, Busan.


At this event, about 50 people including officials from the Ministry of trade, industry and energy and KIAT, and the heads of 11 technical management (professional) graduate schools in Korea including Pukyong National University, Korea university, Sogang university, Sungkyunkwan university, UNIST, Hanyang university, Hoseo university, Kyungpook national university, Gyeongsang national university, Jeonbuk national university, and Chungbuk national university participating in the convergence technology commercialization professional training project.


On this day, Pukyong National University introduced excellent cases of industry-university cooperation project jointly promoted by family companies and corporate support through 'iDRAGON', an industry-academic cooperation enterprise support platform, and there was a session on the performance of industry-university cooperation and technology commercialization, which introduced the best performance cases of each project group and benchmarked each other.

 

UNIST introduced the achievements of big data/AI consulting for the advancement of smart factories of local small and medium-sized manufacturers and the operation results of the technology commercialization academy for small and medium-sized enterprises in Ulsan. Hoseo university introduced the performance creation and global commercialization performance and plans of a family company based on the 'ABL' education model that solves the company’s on-site problems.

 

Korea university presented the results and plans for advancement of 'KoreaMVP', a venture family business growth support program, Sogang university presented cases of family business technology transfer and family business support results, and Sungkyunkwan university announced a successful case of ‘TechBridge’ service, which supports from discovery of R&D partners to commercialization. Hanyang university introduced cases and achievements of operating an education and research platform between MOT graduate schools.

 

Kyungpook national university announced the results of industry-university projects linked to curriculum such as big data utilization practice and technology start-up, and Gyeongsang national university announced the achievements of 'STAR-G', a unique industry-university-linked education model. Jeonbuk national university introduced 'MOT-RS', a preemptive graduate student recruitment program and implementation of industrial-educational projects in the Honam area such as commercial vehicles and bio/agricultural life, and Chungbuk national university announced the industrial-educational project implementation system and performance based on industry-university-research tutoring and team teaching.

 

The professional manpower nurturing project for convergence technology commercialization is a specialist training program for technology management master's and doctoral course that converges and commercializes new technologies such as AI and big data in the overall manufacturing industry. The participating universities in the project plan to continuously operate a conference group to develop convergence technology commercialization education and industry-university cooperation model that can promote corporate growth.

Park Kyung-Ho, the team leader from KIAT, said, "To create innovative results through commercialization of convergence technology, we will actively support MOT graduate schools in Korea to develop into a platform where they can share mutual achievements and seek cooperation through the conference group."

 

President Jang Young-Soo of Pukyong National University said, "Today, crises have become a daily routine, I believe that cooperation across regions and industries is necessary to create convergence technology commercialization results.
