PKNU students carried out house repairs for the underprivileged in the local community

- A social volunteering service group conducted volunteer activities to improve the residential environment for 1-2 days

△ Pukyong National University's PKNU social volunteering service group is taking a commemorative photo at a site that needs volunteer work to improve the residential environment.

 

 

The PKNU social volunteering group (Representative Kim Dae-Han, 4th-year student, major of mechanical engineering) of Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) visited the Nam-gu area of Busan near the university on October 1,2 and served volunteer activities to improve the residential environment.

 

About 60 students from the volunteer group visited underprivileged households in the area for two days and carried out activities such as painting the interior, replacing carpets and doors, repainting walls, and installing safety bars for stairs.

 

The volunteer group has been doing voluntary work to improve the residential environment for residents during vacations every year, but this year, they did volunteer work on weekends during the semester due to COVID-19,

 

While experts such as employees from Dandi volunteer group of Pukyong National University supported LED light installation, electric facility replacement, and repair activities, students from Pukyong National University carried out house repairs, cleaning and tidying up, and environmental cleanup activities neighborhood area.

 

The Nam-gu Office of Busan recommended target households in need of volunteering service to improve the residential environment, and the Nam-gu volunteer center provided supplies necessary for volunteer work.

 

Kim Dae-Han, the representative of the volunteering group said, “We hope that our activities this time will help the underprivileged residents of the region, who are more difficult due to COVID-19, live in a better environment and overcome difficult times.”

 

Meanwhile, Pukyong National University's PKNU social volunteering group is carrying out various volunteer activities for local communities and neighbors, such as house repair service, recycling selection service for carbon neutral practice, rural service, briquette delivery by region, and mentoring service for teenagers. <Pukyong Today>
