Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced on October 5 that professor Seo Jin-Ho's field robotics laboratory of the major of mechanical system engineering has been selected as an ‘authorized laboratory for Busan AI robot industry-university cooperation’.
The ‘Busan AI robot industry-university cooperation authorized lab’ is one of the programs promoted by the Korea institute of robotics & technology convergence as a project of this year to enhance the competitiveness of companies using artificial intelligence robots in Busan.
This project is to support the strengthening of competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies through the convergence and utilization of manufacturing, medical rehabilitation (including healthcare) and marine industries in the Busan region with robots and AI technologies.
As Pukyong National University's field robotics laboratory has been selected for this project, it will operate the ‘robot business startup program’ this year to support local SMEs in using robot technology.
Specifically, Pukyong National University will provide infrastructure such as professional manpower and equipment for SMEs in Busan that need to introduce or commercialize robot technology, and will support industrial-educational cooperation such as technical cooperation and commercialization verification.
Meanwhile, Pukyong National University's field robotics laboratory researches robot mechanism and system integration control, and is performing technology development for disaster response robots, underwater robots and smart aquaculture technology, and development of the source and core technologies of field robots. <Pukyong Today>
