Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that BITZER Korea (CEO Byun Jong-Hwan) donated three cut-away models of refrigerant compressors, a key part of the refrigerating and air conditioning system, to the university.
As part of its corporate social responsibility program, BITZER Korea, a global refrigeration and air conditioning company headquartered in Germany, donated cut-away models of BITZER's refrigerant compressors to Pukyong National University along with its domestic distributors, Samyoung machinery (ceo Yoo Young-Deok, Yoo Deok-Ho) and Daesung maref (CEO Choi Sung-Ho), and recently held a donation ceremony.
Pukyong National University, to which BITZER Korea donated the compressor, is the first university in Korea to establish a major in refrigeration and air-conditioning engineering in 1978. For more than 40 years, Pukyong National University has nurtured talents in the field of refrigeration and air-conditioning and has been recognized as the birthplace of talents in this field by advancing them to large companies.
As refrigeration and air conditioning technology, which controls the temperature and humidity of buildings, ships, and vehicles, has emerged as a key field in the high-tech industry, BITZER Korea, which has been active in Korea since 1987 and has grown together with the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, plans to strengthen close cooperation with university through this donation to foster excellent talent in this field.
The refrigerant compressors donated this time are three cut-away models: a 4-cylinder semi-hermetic reciprocating compressor (4VES-7Y), a screw compressor (CSH6553-35Y), and a semi-hermetic scroll compressor for refrigeration (GSD80235VWB431). Especially, they were commissioned by a specialized company to cut parts of the finished compressor so that the inside of the compressor could be directly observed.
Pukyong National University plans to actively utilize these compressor models in classes such as experiments and practice by students majoring in refrigeration and air conditioning engineering to train talented people with field-oriented practical skills.
Professor Yoon Jeong-In from the department of refrigeration and air-conditioning engineering at Pukyong National University said, “Through more active industry-university cooperation with BITZER Korea, we will work together so that talented students who will lead the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry can gain living work experience from an educational environment.” <Pukyong Today>
