14 universities in Busan gathered to nurture future ‘unicorns’

- launch of ‘Busan universities for entrepreneurship sharing’… 28 startup clubs from 14 universities including PKNU participated

Fourteen universities in the Busan area have come together to support local university students' entrepreneurial ventures to lead to a future ‘unicorn company’ (a privately held startup company that is valued at over $1 billion).

 

LINC3.0 business group in Pukyong National University (director Ryu Ji-Yeol) announced that it held the 1st launching ceremony of ‘Busan universities for entrepreneurship sharing’ at Busan Eurasia platform on December 6th.

 

Busan university for entrepreneurship sharing is a start-up education program in which students from start-up clubs belonging to 14 universities carrying out the LINC3.0 project jointly participate, led by Pukyong National University. In this first group, 28 teams from 14 universities, a total of 104 students, will participate in the challenge to successfully start a business.

 

'Busan universities for entrepreneurship sharing' includes Pukyong National University, Kyungnam college of information & technology, Kyungsung university, Tongmyong university, Dong-Eui university, Dong-Eui institute of technology, Dongju college, Dong-A university, Dongseo university, Pusan National University, Busan institute of science and technology, Silla university, Busan women's college, and Korea maritime and ocean university as well as national universities and colleges.

 

Participants in the 1st group will receive and complete entrepreneurship education for successful startups for 8 weeks, starting with the launching ceremony and ending in January. Entrepreneurship education will be provided in an intensive mentoring method centered on actual entrepreneurship cases by entrepreneurship seniors, such as representatives from leading startup companies and investors from startup agencies in Busan.

 

The LINC3.0 business group from 14 universities, including Pukyong National University, plans to operate systematic and practical entrepreneurship education in connection with the educational programs of the Busan economic promotion agency, Busan creative economy innovation center, and Busan techno park.
