PKNU selected for the 'graduate school TBT intensive support project'

- supporting for major lectures in the dept. of international commerce and logistics, adding momentum to nurturing global talent

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that the university has been selected for the 'Graduate school technical barrier trade (TBT) intensive support project 2023' by the Korean Standards Association.

This project was implemented with the goal of fostering talent with knowledge and capabilities so that domestic companies can respond well to trade technical barriers by supporting the opening of intensive lectures related to technical barrier trade in graduate schools.

Pukyong National University trains professionals who can respond to the rapidly changing international trade environment. Students selected for this project through ‘FTA international commerce and trade’, participate in a major lecture of international commerce and logistics in graduate school, and receive about 10 million won in educational support.

The department of international commerce and logistics plans to educate global talent by inviting experts to strengthen practical and analytical skills to develop graduate students' expertise in the field of international trade, and to provide customized education through this major lecture.

This lecture deals with the latest trends in international trade, environment and negotiations, trade agreements such as WTO and FTA, trade agreements on goods, trade relief measures, agreements on service trade, agreements on trade facilitation, and agreements on government procurement.

Professor Yoo Jeong-Ho, the lecturer, said, "The demand to respond to the 'technical barrier trade', a representative non-tariff barrier, is increasing in the situation where the protectionist mode of international trade is deepening globally. I expect that this project will be a good opportunity to further strengthen international competencies, such as developing students' on-the-ground sense and analytical skills." <Pukyong Today>
