Park Young-Seok, a doctoral student at PKNU selected as Korean outstanding skilled technician
- recognized for capabilities and activities in all fields, including machining, assembly, maintenance, and education
It was announced that Park Young-Seok (phd. candidate, advisor Wang Je-Pil) in the department of metallurgical engineering at Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) has been selected as an excellent skilled engineer for 2023.
The Ministry of employment and labor (MOEL) and the Human resources development service of Korea are selecting excellent skilled technicians who are engaged in production work at industrial sites in order to contribute to raising social awareness of skilled technology and improving industrial competitiveness.
This year, at the certificate awarding ceremony held at Four Points by Sheraton Seoul Guro on September 21, a total of 98 people were selected and received certificates, including 16 Korean master craftsmen, 77 excellent skilled technicians, and 5 skilled technology trainees.
Park Young-Seok was selected as an excellent skilled technician in recognition of his outstanding capabilities and performance in all mechanical fields including machining, assembly, maintenance, and education.
Mr. Park has been active in international competitions, serving as a deputy guidance committee member in the industrial machinery and CNC lathe categories at the Worldskills championship, and he is recognized for his expertise by serving as a judge in the National skills championship in the field of machining and assembly, demonstrating his expertise.
He has acquired a total of 33 certifications, including national technical qualifications, and possesses on-site industrial machine assembly and installation technology and ultra-precision alignment technology. While he is active in the industrial field, he is pursuing a degree, and is burning his passion for learning by obtaining a bachelor's degree in the mechanical field, a master's degree in mechanical education, and now a doctoral degree.
Along with teaching as an adjunct professor at Korea polytechnic university, he is also taking the lead in imparting and educating high school students on technical guidance and career counseling, special lectures on technology, and talent donation service with his experienced techniques. <Pukyong Today>
