A student team from the department of political science and diplomacy (advisor Lee Sung-Bong) at Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) won the grand prize in the 'Mock assembly competition for college students'.

Twenty students, including Jeong Soo-Hyeon (4th-year student) from the department of political science and diplomacy at Pukyong National University, won the grand prize in the group category at this competition held in the conference room of the Busan city council on November 3, hosted by the Busan city council and organized by the 21st Century political science association.

The mock assembly competition for college students is a competition in which participating college students select local issues as topics and compete in the form of a standing committee to find solutions. It is held every year to encourage college students' interest in local issues, suggest policy alternatives, and promote exchanges between political science students and schools in the Busan region.

Students from Pukyong National University who participated with the agenda of 'continuing operation of Kori nuclear power plant, unit 2' received the highest evaluation from the judges for raising public awareness of local problems, differentiated critical awareness, and presenting realistic alternatives.

Excellent capabilities of students from Pukyong National University were recognized in the individual category, with Jeong Soo-Hyeon (2-year student) from the department of political science and diplomacy, receiving the grand prize, followed by Sohn Seong-Hyeon (2-year student) receiving the excellence award and Jeong Soo-Ah receiving the encouragement award.
