Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) has decided to directly reflect nearly 14,960 university assessments from students, including satisfaction and improvements in all areas of campus life, in university operations.
Pukyong National University held the final briefing session of the 5th student planning and assessment team for the 2023 school year in the conference room on the first floor of the college of environmental and marine sciences and technology building on the afternoon of November 10th and held a completion ceremony and awards ceremony for the assessment team.
The student planning and assessment team is a program that has been operating since 2019 to expand opportunities for students to participate in educational policy, including reforming the curriculum by reflecting the results of inspection and analysis throughout the university from the perspective of students, who are demanders of education, in university operations.
This year, since September of last year, 58 students from the student planning and assessment team have been visiting and interviewing students from all undergraduate departments individually to share their strengths, problems, and opinions for improvement in all five areas of campus life: liberal arts, majors, academic management, core competencies and extracurricular subjects, and student support.
Last year, they met 880 students in person with a survey consisting of 17 subjective questions rather than a multiple-choice survey and collected a total of 14,960 opinions.
Pukyong National University students expressed opinions such as being satisfied with facilities such as library expansion and remodeling and career-related support programs and requesting the opening of various liberal arts subjects. There were also opinions from international students that it would be nice to have more opportunities to interact with Korean students.
Pukyong National University plans to collect and analyze these opinions centered on the Future-ready education center, share them with all members, and use them to improve curriculum and educational policies.
Along with these activities, Pukyong National University reviewed the result reports and activity UCCs submitted by the student planning and assessment team at the final briefing session on this day and encouraged their activities by selecting and awarding excellent teams. <Pukyong Today>
