Prof. Yu Dong-In's team from PKNU took second place in the KSME-LG future home-tech challenge

- the team of interfacial phenomena lab won 3million won cash prize

The team from the Interfacial phenomenon lab led by professor Yu Dong-In (mechanical design engineering) at Pukyong National University took second place in the '2nd KSME-LG future home-tech challenge' jointly held by the Korean society of mechanical engineers (KSME) and LG electronics home appliance & air solution (H&A).

 

The 'KSME-LG future home-tech challenge' is a competition where both organizations contest creative and practical ideas that will lead the innovation of the future technological society, and was held under the theme of smart home, manufacturing innovative production technology, VPD, refrigeration and air conditioning, noise and vibration, hygiene and bio, materials, appearance and sensibility, product reliability.

 

The team consists of professor Yu Dong-In, Kim Do-Yeon, Kim Young-Hyun, Heo Jae-Won studying for a ph.d and Lee Hye-Ri studying master's degree and Baek Jin-Gi, Choi Seon-Ho in the bachelor-master integrated program.

 

They achieved excellent results by participating in the expert group section of this competition, which was conducted by evaluating proposals in two categories: the expert group and the young engineer group, and the awards ceremony was held at the Korean society of mechanical engineers academic conference 2023 held at Songdo convensia in Incheon on November 2.

 

A total of 80 teams participated in this challenge, 25 teams received awards, and students from the Pukyong National University team that won the second prize will receive additional points if they apply for a job at LG electronics H&A. <Pukyong Today>
