PKNU expands international academic exchange network with universities in eastern Indonesia

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) has joined hands with universities in eastern Indonesia to expand its international academic exchange network.

 

On the morning of November 15, Pukyong National University signed an international academic exchange agreement with Cenderawasih university, Musamus university, and the university of Nusa Cendana in Indonesia on the first floor of the Dongwon Jang Bogo hall.

 

These universities are prestigious public universities located in Papua and the east Nusa Tenggara provinces in the eastern region of Indonesia.

 

On this day, President Jang Young-Soo, rector Oscar Oswald O. Wambrauw from Cenderawasih university, vice-rector Yosehi Mekiuw from Musamus university, and rector Maxs Sanam from the university of Nusa Cendana decided to build a network by signing an international academic exchange agreement and engaged in educational cooperation, including academic cooperation, cultural and human exchanges.

 

Pukyong National University awarded an honorary doctorate to Puan Maharani, speaker of the national assembly of Indonesia, who visited Korea in November last year, and signed academic exchange agreements with eight universities visited Korea together, also the university has been steadily expanding its educational cooperation network by holding a local academic exchange council with 18 partner universities in Indonesia last June.

 

As an extension of these international cooperation activities, the presidents and office directors of not only the three universities that signed the agreement on this day but also the university of Pattimura and the university of Indonesia, which are already exchanging with Pukyong National University, participated in the event to discuss the direction for university exchange and cooperation.

 

President Jang Young-Soo said, "I believe that efforts to share vision and innovate through international cooperation are essential in order to cultivate talent for a global future that will lead the era of the 4th industrial revolution," and he added, "Pukyong National University plans to lay the foundation for cooperation such as student exchange programs, research cooperation, international seminars, and workshops as a base for international academic exchange between Indonesian universities and Korea, while actively expanding international academic exchange activities between ASEAN countries." <Pukyong Today>
