Pukyong National University, Holds Major Fair to Prepare for ‘Undeclared Majors’

-November 12th at Pukyong Convention Hall … Introduction to Major and Double Major Systems

Pukyong National University held the ‘2024 Major Fair’ on November 12th to provide information about various major systems ahead of the full introduction of the Department of Undeclared Majors (Undeclared) next year.

Hosted by the College of Undergraduate Studies at Pukyong National University (Dean Choi Ho-seok), the event, held from the morning at Pukyong Convention Hall, consisted of a ‘Major Exploration Section’ for introducing and advising on each department/major and a ‘Major Design Section’ for introducing various major systems, including double majors and interdisciplinary majors.

Pukyong National University has organized this event to support students’ major selection and career planning, as 30% of next year’s incoming students will be selected for the Department of Undeclared Majors (Undeclared). The purpose of the event is also to provide useful information on major design and major changes to current students.

Pukyong National University currently offers 76 departments/majors and more than 100 double majors created by combining or redesigning these majors, maximizing students’ choices in their major selection.

Around 900 Pukyong National University students who participated in the fair visited booths set up at the event to gather information about existing majors, explore ways to design their desired majors, and learn about major changes, integrated undergraduate and graduate programs, and other related information.

Sections for events such as fingerprint personality tests, photo booths, and personal color analysis were also set up, gaining positive responses from participants.

Pukyong National University plans to hold this event every semester starting next year, following this year’s event. It aims to provide current students with accurate information about majors and major changes, as well as offer incoming freshmen in the Department of Undeclared Majors an opportunity to take the initiative in choosing their majors. <Pukyong Today>
