Pukyong National University Awards 20 million KRW in Scholarships to 65 ‘Book Lovers’

-‘Library Mileage Scholarships’ Awarded to Outstanding Library Users


Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) awarded a total of 20 million KRW in scholarships to 65 students selected as ‘book lovers.’

 

The Pukyong National University Library (Director Kim Eun-il) held the ‘2024 Library Mileage Scholarship Award Ceremony’ on December 23 at the Marine Humanities Resource Room in the Academic Information Center.

 

The Library Mileage Scholarship program awards mileage points to students who participate in library activities such as borrowing books and attending programs, and those with the most mileage over the course of a year receive scholarships.

 

The Pukyong National University Library awards mileage points based on students’ book and e-book borrowing records, participation in library education, cultural events, surveys, reading club involvement, submission of book reports, and use of library facilities.

 

On this day, Kim Mi-hyun (Department of Accounting and Finance) received the Grand Prize of a 1 million KRW scholarship by accumulating the highest mileage points of 677 from activities such as borrowing print books, e-books, participating in cultural events, attending library education, and submitting book reports throughout the year.

 

In addition, two students were awarded the Excellence Award with scholarships of 800,000 KRW, five students received the Outstanding Award with 500,000 KRW, and 57 students received Encouragement Awards with scholarships ranging from 200,000 to 400,000 KRW, totaling 20 million KRW in scholarships awarded to 65 students.

 

Meanwhile, Pukyong National University Library, which has been running this program since 2016, plans to continue promoting the program while improving both the quantity and quality of its initiatives to enhance library use and foster a reading culture. <Pukyong Today>
