Pukyong National University Selected as a ‘Safety Education Institution’
-Leisure Activity Safety, Natural Disasters, and Rescue · First Aid Areas

Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) announced on January 3 that it has been selected as a “Safety Education Institution” by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
After undergoing an on-site inspection and evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety last month, Pukyong National University was officially selected for the 2024 Safety Education Institution program in three safety areas: leisure activity safety, natural disasters, and rescue · first aid.
A safety education institution is one that systematically and continuously provides safety education throughout the life cycle. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety designated 8 institutions nationwide, including Pukyong National University, as safety education institutions for 2024 across 16 safety areas in five safety fields, as announced last month.
Pukyong National University, having been selected as a Safety Education Institution, will implement life-cycle safety education programs led by the Sports Promotion Institute (Director Shin Jong-dae), specifically through its Water Sports Safety Education Department.
The Sports Promotion Institute plans to provide education on safety knowledge and skills to raise awareness of national safety and help individuals respond effectively to various disasters and safety accidents, in accordance with the ‘Basic Law for the Promotion of National Safety Education.’
Shin Jong-dae, Director of Pukyong National University’s Sports Promotion Institute, stated, “We will systematically and continuously conduct safety education throughout the life cycle, from childhood to adulthood, with a focus on life-saving swimming, water rescue, CPR, and first aid training. Through this specialized education, we aim to create a safe water activity environment and contribute to building a safe community by teaching life-saving skills in emergency situations.” <Pukyong Today>
