Chairman Park Se-Ho of Wooju Sealings Group Donates KRW 200 Million to His Alma Mater, Pukyong National University, for Its 80th Anniversary

- Development Fund Delivery Ceremony Held on the 5th; 80th Anniversary Donation Relay Continues

Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-Hoon) held a Development Fund Delivery Ceremony on the afternoon of February 5 at the reception room of the university’s main administration building, honoring Chairman Park Se-Ho of Wooju Sealings Group.

Chairman Park Se-Ho, who also serves as President of the Pukyong National University Alumni Association, presented KRW 200 million to President Bae Sang-Hoon, stating, “As my alma mater marks its 80th anniversary, I hope Pukyong National University will grow beyond a regionally specialized institution and advance into a prestigious university recognized nationally and globally.”

Since founding Wooju Gaspack Industrial Co., Ltd. in 1982, Chairman Park Se-Ho has pioneered the gasket, packing, and seal sectors, building what is now Wooju Sealings Group. He is widely recognized as a business leader who has led a representative regional company with internationally competitive quality standards.

He stated, “As the president of the alumni association, I want to take the lead in commemorating the meaningful history of my alma mater,” adding, “I hope many fellow alumni who love the university will join in this effort.”

Prior to this donation, he had already contributed a total of KRW 340 million to Pukyong National University, and with this additional KRW 200 million donation, he has continued to demonstrate his strong commitment and support for the university’s development. In 2022, he was also honored with the 17th Proud Pukyong Person Award.

As Pukyong National University marks its 80th anniversary this year, it has been carrying out a Donation Relay Campaign, with a series of contributions continuing in succession. Following the KRW 300 million donation by CEO Jeong Yong-Pyo of KAM Co., Ltd. (No. 1 donor), KRW 150 million by CEO Kim Pil-Seon of Seyeong Foods Co., Ltd. (No. 2), and KRW 100 million by the Pukyong CEO Academy Fellows Association (No. 3), the campaign has now been further extended with the latest contribution by Chairman Park Se-Ho (No. 4).

Pukyong National University plans to use the collected development funds to support outstanding talent development and academic research initiatives, and to accelerate the realization of its strategic visions as a research-focused university, an AX innovation university, and a globally innovative institution. <Pukyong Today>
