Pukyong National University (President Kim Young-seup) announced on March 2 that the university will implement preventive measures to minimize student movement, such as untact classes and controlling dormitory outings, to create a safe campus from Corona19.

Pukyong National University delayed the opening of the course for two weeks (3.2. → 3.16.) and in order to minimize the external contact of the students, the university decided to conduct untact classes for two weeks after the start of the classes (from 3.16 to 3.27). During this time, classes attending students in the classroom will not be held. Instead, it is replaced by online classes.

In addition, Pukyong National University decided to strictly control students' entrance and exit from the dormitory to protect the students currently living in the dormitory (Sejong Complex#2) from the sources of infection. The dormitory currently has over 500 students.

Under this measure, students living in the dormitory will be restricted from going out except inevitable, and meals will be available only at fixed times and places. At mealtime, students will be guided by the Corona19 Emergency Officers of Pukyong National University. Simple daily necessities can be purchased at the convenience store in the building using mealtime. Pukyong National University decided to provide 1,500 masks to students living in the dormitory, making it mandatory to wear them.

An official from the Pukyong National University said, "If one person is infected to corona virus, the entire dormitory should be closed immediately due to the characteristics of a multi-use facility." and he added, "These preventive measures have been taken to protect dormitory students who are currently living in a safe environment from being exposed to external sources of infection."

Prior to this, Pukyong National University had closed all libraries to prevent the infection of Corona 19 since 26th last month. In addition, the university is strengthening its distance from infectious agents such as closing campus entrances except for the main and back gate, and prohibiting public access. <Pukyong Today>
