Jang Young-soo, president of Pukyong National University, said on the 30th, "Recently, Pukyong National University has performed the largest innovation since its establishment and carried out the largest academic restructuring innovation in Korea," he added, "Based on this, we will foster students to hear that they are challenging and innovative talents in the existing evaluation of ’Pukyong National University student = model student’."

President Jang made this announcement by appearing in the Busan MBC News ’Let’s Meet Real Talk’ program for 20 minutes at 8 am on the same day.

’The biggest innovation since the establishment of Pukyong National University’ refers to the recent major innovation in academic reorganizations. Pukyong National University recently prepared a reorganization plan with ▷the aim of establishing an undergraduate university in charge of basic liberal arts education during the first year, ▷12 new faculties, and ▷the establishment of an information convergence university through heated discussions and opinions gathering on campus.

On this day, when asked about his inauguration, president Jang said, "I am excited and highly motivated," added, "It is unfortunate that the activities are limited due to COVID-19, but as the president of the ’Innovative DNA’ Pukyong National University, I will work hard with an innovative mind."

Regarding the development plan of Pukyong National University, president Jang said, "Pukyong National University is a regional university, but it is a highly specialized university. It is different from the general department store-style universities. We will try to lead the development of universities by creating new educational values in which human-life-AI converges in the future, based on the two specialized divisions, marine fisheries, and engineering."

President Jang continued to talk about the establishment of the World Fisheries University, "By establishing an international organization under the UN FAO called World Fisheries University in the United Nations Special Peace Zone where Pukyong National University is located, we will bring in outstanding talents from all over the world to teach maritime fisheries studies well and nurture them to contribute to the global food industry."

Jang said when asked about the progress of the establishment of the Medical Radiology College, another core vision of Pukyong National University, "Pukyong National University must have a medical school in order to leap into a comprehensive university. I have a broken sleep these days because of my thoughts," he said, explaining the importance of attracting a medical radiology college.

He said, "Attracting the Medical Radiology College has just begun" and added, "I will work hard, running principal roads as president, to attract medical school."
