Eunha Fisheries, a Fishery-product processing company representing Busan, donated 100 million won to Pukyong National University

Eunha Fisheries Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Hyun-Woo), which is a representative seafood processing company in Busan, has generously donated 100 million won in development funds to Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) with a request to cultivate talents for the future for the field of smart fisheries.

On the morning of May 26, Eunha Fisheries Chairman Lee Hyun-Woo visited the president's office which is on the 5th floor of the university administration building of Pukyong National University and delivered 100 million won to President Jang Young-Soo to support specialized research and foster talented people in the fishery field.

Mr. Lee said, "I hope this donation will be helpful in nurturing great talents who will play an active role in the fishery industry, which is taking off as a high-value, future-oriented high-tech business."

Eunha Fisheries, which was established in 2000, is a representative fishery company in the region where ‘Youngdo Store’ opened in 1970 at Jagalchi Market in Busan.

After being selected as one of the 10 leading companies in the Busan maritime strategy industry in 2012, the industry first introduced advanced automated processing equipment to process live fish fillets in 2019, and pioneered a nationwide distribution network for aged sashimi products in 2020, and since then, the company has been leading the fishery industry.

Mr. Lee said, "Our company is working hard to become a leading company in the sustainable and eco-friendly smart fishery industry based on its know-how in the field of traditional seafood processing and distribution. For this, we plan to expand industry-academic cooperation with Pukyong National University, which has been at the forefront of education, research, and human resource development in the fisheries in Korea."

Eunha Fisheries is focusing on innovative management, such as promoting collaboration in the field of eco-friendly smart aquaculture with Professor Park Jeong-Hwan (Department of Marine Bio-Materials and Aquaculture) of Pukyong National University.
