The school song of Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) was reborn through the performance of the Busan Symphony Orchestra after 25 years.

Pukyong National University, Busan Symphony Orchestra, and Pukyong National University Alumni Association held a 'School Song Presentation Ceremony of Pukyong National University' on the 3rd floor of the Administration Building in the afternoon of September 8th.

On the day, chair professor Oh Choong-Geun of Pukyong National University, who is also an artistic director of Busan Symphony Orchestra, delivered a CD and USB containing a school song of Pukyong National University performed by the Busan Symphony Orchestra and sung by soprano Shin Min-Won and baritone Park Dae-Yong, to President Jang Young-Soo.

Pukyong National University has been using the analog sound source of school songs newly produced and recorded in 1996 to commemorate the integration of the National Fisheries University of Busan and Busan National University of Technology for 25 years, and with the support of the Pukyong National University Alumni Association (Chairman Lee Seung-Cheol), the school has re-produced a digital sound source that matches the status of the university.

The school song was written by poet Jo Byeong-Hwa, who served as president of the National Academy of Arts, and composed by composer Jang Il-Nam, who left representative songs such as ‘Bimok (The Wooden Mound Marker)’ and ‘Waiting’.

The newly recorded Pukyong National University's school song was produced in several versions, including a performance version with a deep and serious performance of the Busan Symphony Orchestra, the representative symphony orchestra of the region, Shin Min-Won, a soprano who is recognized for her abundant power of expression, and a solo and duet by Park Dae-Yong, a baritone who is evaluated for a full voice, are receiving a response that it expresses the meaning of the school song in a modern sense.

Pukyong National University plans to release the newly recorded school song through its website and officially use it for school introduction videos and events such as entrance ceremonies and graduation. <Pukyong Today>
