Researchers from Pukyong National University's Marine Integrated Bionics Technology Research Center (Prof. Jeong Won-Kyo, Director · Dept. of Biomedical Engineering), the Key Research Institute for Universities in the field of marine bio and biomedical fields, are attracting public attention by advancing into excellent research institutes both at home and abroad in the first year of the project.
Pukyong National University's Marine Integrated Bionics Technology Research Center officially announced on February 3 that seven researchers have been recently hired at excellent research institutes in the marine, bio, and medical fields at home and abroad.
This achievement is attracting attention as the excellent achievement achieved in the first year since the center was selected for the Key Research Institute for Universities support project last year, a large-scale national project of the Ministry of Education that supports university-affiliated research institutes in the science and engineering fields to establish a research base for universities.
Including Dr. Heo Seong-Young (Advisory Prof. Jeong Won-Kyo) of the center was hired by the Jeju Specialized Research Institute (KIO-Dream hall) of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), Researcher Kim Eun-Bi (Advisory Prof. Kim Hyeon-Woo) was hired by the Ministry of Resources, Environment and Food of the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS), researcher Kim Min-Seong (Advisory Prof. Jeong Won-Kyo) was hired by the Health Headquarters of the Korea Institute of Construction and Living Environment (KCL), and Dr. Oh Gun-Woo (Advisory Prof. Jeong Won-Kyo) was hired by the Marine Biotechnology Research Division of the National Marine Diversity Institute of Korea (MABIK).
At the same time, researcher Van Tran Nam (Advisory Prof. Kang Hyun-Wook) will be hired at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering in Vietnam, and Kim Hye-Jin and Van Gia Truong (Advisory Prof. Kang Hyun-Wook) will be employed at TeCure Research Center, a domestic smart healthcare company.
With the support of the Center, they gained recognition for their outstanding research achievements, such as publishing papers in the marine, bio, and medical fields, winning various academic conferences, registering patents, and winning research projects.
Meanwhile, Pukyong National University's Marine Integrated Bionics Technology Research Center was selected as the Key Research Institute for Universities project last year, and will receive 8.25 billion won in support from the government, universities and Busan city government by 2030, and aims to develop and research marine convergence biomedical technology that leads the nation's new high-tech marine industry, and to nurture professional manpower. <Pukyong Today>
