PKNU donated 11 million won to Ukraine

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) is attracting public attention by carrying out activities to help Ukraine, a country currently suffering from war.

 

Pukyong National University held a donation ceremony for Ukrainian refugees in the morning of March 16 in the president's office on the 3rd floor of the university administration building.

 

Pukyong National University's faculty and staff have been raising funds since the beginning of this month, and through their voluntary donations, 11 million won has been raised. The Pukyong National University will deliver this amount to the Ukrainian embassy on the 17th.

 

In connection with the Russian invasion matter of Ukraine, Pukyong National University issued a statement on the 2nd day to oppose the war and to call for a peaceful resolution by the Student Council and the UN Supporters, a student peace volunteer group. Also, hundreds of faculties and staff are also actively engaged in humanitarian aid, such as participating in this fundraising event.

 

Pukyong National University held the 'PKNU Peace Concert' specially to pray for peace in Ukraine at the university theater on the afternoon of the 16th to publicly spread the message of world peace and healing.

 

President Jang Young-Soo said, "As the world's only national university located in the UN special zone for peace and culture, we will do our best to spread the values of peace and coexistence to the local community and the world."

 

In the meantime, Pukyong National University's Student Council also plans to donate the proceeds from the flea market of the Spring Festival to be held on the 25th to support Ukraine.
