PKNU starts 'Future Education-leading' College of Information Technology and Convergence

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) held a signboard ceremony for the newly established College of Information Technology and Convergence in front of Hyangpa building on the morning of March 22, and announced its launch in earnest.

Pukyong National University established the College of Information Technology and Convergence this year to educate technology -convergence academics and nurture future talents, and on this day, President Jang Young-Soo, Dean Song Ha-Joo, and faculty members attended a signboard ceremony.

It is the first time in 26 years since Pukyong National University was established through the integration of the National Fisheries University of Busan and Busan National University of Technology in 1996, except for the Future Convergence University, which was opened as a governments' lifelong education policy project.

With the opening of new departments and reorganization of the academic organization, Pukyong National University installed 14 majors from 6 divisions in the field of high-tech future industries such as Division of Data and Information Science, Media School, Smart Healthcare, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Architecture and Design, and Computer Engineering to the College of Information Technology and Convergence and started operating in earnest from this semester.

This year's recruitment of new students at the College of Information Technology and Convergence attracted 561 applicants and 4,400 applications, and as of the first semester, 2,400 out of 15,000 Pukyong National University students are enrolled in this college.
