He added, "Our university is in the spotlight based on world-class marine and fisheries engineering, convergence studies, and artificial intelligence, robots, metaverse, big data, and blockchains, we cultivate talents who will lead the era of the 4th industrial revolution and future industries such as artificial intelligence, robots, and become a creative growth model as a specialized comprehensive national university."

 

The Korea Public News also introduced various efforts of Pukyong National University, which have recently been focused on innovation in the academic structural reforms.

 

President Jang Young-Soo explained, "Our university newly founded a liberal art college exclusively for basic liberal arts and first-year education, while lowering barriers in cross discipline and applying an undergraduate system to colleges for interdisciplinary, furthermore, we foster future creative convergence talent by reforming an academic structure that also established an information technology and convergence college that nurtures experts in new industries for the future, and a field-linked 'micro degree' curriculum."

 

Various projects related to Nam-gu, Busan, where the Pukyong National University campus is located, were also of major topic in this interview.

 

"Pukyong National University built the largest industrial-educational cooperation infrastructure in the southeast region by completely opening the Yongdang campus of 3306 m2 to companies, providing customized consulting support for resident companies, providing low rental rates, and providing various support such as mentoring of professors in charge between universities and companies," said president Jang Young-Soo, saying that Pukyong National University is taking the lead in promoting local youth entrepreneurship and industry-university cooperation.
