Launched 'digital smart Busan academy' with 12 institutions in Busan

The 'digital smart Busan academy' has been launched in earnest with the participation of 12 institutions in Busan to train field-specific talents specialized in software.
Pukyong National University digital smart Busan academy (chief Noh Maeng-Seok, prof. in major of big data) held the 'digital smart Busan academy inauguration ceremony' on the in the morning of June 22 in the conference room on the second floor of Pukyong National University’s administration building.
The 'digital smart Busan academy’ is a project that connects universities and companies to form a large-scale consortium to jointly design and operate the curriculum, and to connect students to employment, in order to nurture field-specific talents specialized in software in the Busan region.
A consortium of 12 institutions, including universities and companies, set up by Pukyong National University, has been selected for the SW professional human resources training business 2022 by the Ministry of science and ICT and the institute of information & communications technology planning & evaluation (IITP) to operate this academy.
Starting with the inauguration, for the advancement and smartization of the leading industry in Busan for 4 years with support of about 7.8 billion won, the consortium trains more than 670 SW specialists for 4 years through 16 weeks of intensive training in technical education for students and graduates of Pukyong National University, Dong-A university, and Dong-Eui university who have taken basic SW courses such as python and deep learning in five education fields: digital finance, smart healthcare, big data, smart ship/port, and smart factory.
At the ceremony on this day, officials from Busan-based companies who supported job recommendations and field training along with participating organizations such as Dong-A university and Dong-Eui university, Shinsegae I&C inc., BNK system co., ltd., SCT corp., Pine information technology co., ltd., ST research co., ltd., Toogram systems co., ltd., Fin insight co., ltd., and Busan economic promotion agency including Pukyong National University, has participated.
Thematic presentations were made in the areas of education, start-up & job-hunting support, and talent cultivation business, including the announcement of the digital smart Busan academy promotion plan by prof. Noh Maeng-Seok, the head of the business unit.
Professor Noh Maeng-Seok said, "We will do our best to nurture talented SW professionals together with local universities and local companies so that they can become leaders for the modernization and smartization of Busan's main industries." <Pukyong Today>
