A ceremony marking the U.N. forces participation day held in Busan by university students
- Pukyong students hold 'Remember727 in Busan' on the 27th
To mark the Korean armistice agreement day and the U.N. forces participation day on July 27th, students from Busan voluntarily took part in a commemorative ceremony, attracting attention.
On the afternoon of the 27th, 30 students from United Nations Supporters, a student peace volunteer group at Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo), held the 'Pukyong U.N. supporters × Remember727 in Busan' event at the convention hall located on the 3rd floor of the UN peace memorial in Nam-gu, Busan.
On this day, consul representative David from the US Consulate in Busan, Park Jong-Wang, director of the United Nations peace memorial hall, Jung Gil-Jae, acting commissioner of the Busan regional patriots and veterans affairs, Bae Byung-Cheol, deputy commissioner of Nam-Gu office in Busan, and Park Sang-Won, president of the world Korean foundation attended and Introduction, offerings, and silence were held at the event.
The students from the U.N. supporters of Pukyong National University planned this event by themselves to commemorate the sacrifices of the Korean war veterans in connection with the U.S. 'Remember72'’ event to commemorate the U.N. forces participation day.
The U.N. supporters of Pukyong National University is a unique volunteer group that only Pukyong National University has, which directly visits the survivors of the Korean War and their families and holds a thank-you event. For the 14th year since the first semester in 2009, they have visited the world's only U.N. memorial park near the university to provide flowers and worship, as well as support events to commemorate the UN war veterans and mark the U.N. world peace day.
Kim Young-Mok, director of the student affairs office said, "I hope this event, which aims to lead the realization of common values for mankind by planning and promoting patriotism events by young people, not organized by groups or institutions, to be set up as a meaningful event to spread the meaning of the Korean armistice agreement day and the U.N. forces participation day to the local community. <Pukyong Today>
