PKNU provides an invitational training program for civil servants from the Senegal ministry of fisheries and maritime economy

On the morning of October 12, Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) held an opening ceremony for the 'capacity-building short-term invitational training for the Senegal ministry of fisheries and marine economy' at the CEO hall on the second floor of Mirae building.
This process, supported by the Ministry of oceans and fisheries, is an official development assistance (ODA) project to promote cooperation and friendly relations in the fisheries sector between Korea and Senegal to support the establishment of a foundation for the development of Senegal's fisheries industry by transferring Korea's advanced fisheries education, technology, and policies to Senegal.
This course, run by the Overseas fisheries cooperation center (OFCC) at Pukyong National University by inviting current civil servants from Senegal ministry of fisheries and marine economy, has 10 people participating in the first course last June, and 10 people participated in the second course, starting with the entrance ceremony on the same day and providing theoretical education, field trips, and experimental practice for three weeks.
The Overseas fisheries cooperation center at Pukyong National University utilizes the know-how of fisheries training projects that it has been conducting for developing countries since 2007 to organize and operate specialized courses in fields such as fisheries policy, aquaculture, feed, food processing, hygiene, distribution, and human resources training.
In addition to theoretical education, field trips to tour and experience local seafood processing companies, fish farms, fishing grounds, and markets are also provided.
Following the opening ceremony, President Jang Young-Soo at Pukyong National University gave a special lecture to the participants on topics such as global environmental changes and opportunities in the fisheries industry and innovation in fisheries science research.
