Developed the LED-ICT-aquaculture convergence lighting system

LED-Maritime Convergence Technology Research Center of Pukyong National University (the head – professor Yu Young-moon) reported that since 2015, it has announced that it has developed a ’LED-ICT-aquaculture convergence lighting system’, a smart farming equipment that can significantly improve the productivity of aquaculture fish by promoting research on the development and commercialization of aquaculture equipment based on LED and ICT. The research team said, "As a result of an empirical study of 40,000 to 60,000 halibut at the farm site of Jeju halibut, compared to the control group, they have been shown a high growth rate of about 15 % to 79 % in a water tank equipped with a ’LED-ICT-aquaculture convergence lighting system’." In the meantime, the research team systematically analyzed physiological effects such as changes in swimming behavior of fish according to the LED wavelength, immune effect and wound recovery effect, stress reduction, and growth rate, and identified the optimal LED wavelength that can be applied to aquaculture sites.<기사보기 클릭!>
