Generally, the aim of nursing education is to nurture professional nurses who are recognized in practical sites based on ？their appropriate personality and communication ability,？ together with their basic ability as a nurse. To state the specifics of our aims, these are to nurture leading nurses who represent regional society and the nation, as well as talented nurses ？who are recognized in practical sites based on their appropriate personalities and communication abilities,？ ？together with their basic ability as a nurse？ through theory and clinical practices.
DEPARTMENT OF NURSING INTRODUCTION
The Department of Nursing is a science of care that emphasizes stability as a way of preventing diseases, recovery, maintaining and improving health by understanding the target in terms of the individual, family and regional society.
Types of Certified Licenses
Nursing license, health teachers, health trainers.
Possible Careers After Graduation
- Nurse practitioner : The Nurse or educator consults and manages his or her nursing target at university hospitals and national/private medical facilities (2nd, 3rd general hospital)
- Health teacher : This person controls the health management of students and teaching staff as the health teacher of elementary and secondary schools after the completion of educational courses.
- Government servant in the health area (a nurse in a health center, health subcenter, or health-related field) : This person is in charge of health-related works for a government body such as the Ministry for Health and Welfare, National Health Insurance Corporation, regional administration in a city or province.
- Industry health manager : This person controls the management of employees in the medical room of various industries.
- Midwife : This person controls the nursing of pregnant women and the newborn by managing a maternity clinic or a postnatal care center after completing courses as a midwife.
- Professional nurse : There are 13 kinds of professional nurses in Korea. They can work as professional nurses, family nurses, nosocomial infection nurses, eldery specialty nurses, anesthetist nurses, health professional nurses, industrial professional nurses, emergency professional nurses, mental professional nurses, tumor professional nurses, intensive care patient professional nurses, hospice professional nurses, clinical nurses and child professional nurses after completing the appropriate professional nursing masters degree.
- Professor and researcher (microorganism class, pathology class etc) : These people work as university professors or researchers at health-related departments (Korea Center for Disease Control and Preventions, etc) after the completion of masters and doctors degrees.
- Career overseas
- These people work overseas after achieving the US or other foreign nurses license
- They can also work as national medical volunteers.
- Nursing researcher : These people work as professional researchers on clinical experiments on pharmaceutics and medical devices at pharmaceutical companies or clinical test centers.
- Other medical-related enterprises
- Health related associations (Korea Association of Health Promotion, The Korean National Tuberculosis Association, Korean Industrial Health Association, blood center, etc), and medical information system companies.
- Health trainers
- Nurse officers
- Evaluation nurses of property insurance
