The Department of Microbiology focuses on pure microbiology and aims to educate students on the high-technology required in genetic engineering and various fermentation industries which are believed to be the futuristic life science area.
The department deals on basic courses in molecular biology, biochemistry, enzymology, basic microbiology, applied microbiology, genetic engineering, food microbiology, fermentation and industrial microbiology, marine microbiology, hospital microbiology, environmental microbiology and virology as to be employed in high-tech industries such as food and energy production, medical and pharmaceutical production, chemical material production and environmental-related fields.
