The aim of the Department of Polymer Engineering is to nurture intellectuals who can revive the development and application of new polymer materials, which constitute one of the national strategic industries in terms of the so-called "Plastic Era" of the 21st century. New Polymer materials are the driving force of this future industry because of their high functioning ablility and value to the industry, and they include materials for electrical, aerospace and medical uses. Therefore, we are focusing on nurturing intellectuals with creativity and a sense of realism by educating our students through industrial site practice and complex design of specialties regarding the application of polymer materials such as synthetics and the production of organic and non-organic materials. The emphasis of our teaching for this profession is on organic materials, physical chemistry and material engineering.

Goals

  • To foster a basic knowledge and designing ability that is necessary for polymer engineers.
  • To foster teamwork spirit and the ability to effect problem resolution.
  • To nurture intellectuals who can manage flexibly manage globalization and new technology.

Curriculum

  • Undertake experiments in basic chemistry, organic synthesis and polymerization.
  • Undertake experiments related to polymer instrumental analysis.
  • Study the separation of polymer and recycling.
  • Study Polymer colloids and surfactants.
  • Study Polymer elasticity and new polymer materials.
  • Study extruding, ejaculation, and polymer branding related to polymer materials.
  • Sunlight-function material (screen, light-responding material, organic sunlight energy).
  • Processes studied: Sunlight-function material (screen, light-responding material, organic sunlight energy) / nano material.

Types of Certified Licenses

Hazardous industrial engineers, chemical industrial engineers, chemical engineers, chemical analysis functionalists, chemical analists

  • Polymer related industry
    • Branding companies (polymer material production), polymer production companies (plastic, rubber, textile, adhesive, paint production), etc.
