PKNU students won the best paper award at ‘ICEIC 2023’

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that Kim Dong-Hun, Na Hyun-Jun, Kim Na-Young, third-year students and Jeong Seong-Hun in the master’s program at transdisciplinary studies on human ICT in media school have recently won the best paper award at the international academic conference ‘ICEIC 2023’ held in Singapore.

They received this award at the international conference, where more than 300 papers from 12 countries were gathered. The team presented the paper ‘digital handwriting correction deep learning’(advisory prof. Kong Kyung-Bo).

Pukyong University students were praised for this paper by detecting errors in spelling in the tablet environment and developing algorithms that modified them to fonts similar to users' handwriting.

The advisory professor Kong Kyung-Bo said, “I think that the inconveniences that students felt in their daily lives were suggested as a service. The students designed it themselves through the artificial intelligence media basic class project, which led to good results this time.”

As for the ‘ICEIC 2023 (international conference on electronics, information, and communication 2023)' co-hosted by the institute of electronical and electronics engineers (IEEE) in the US and the institute of electronics and information engineers (IEIE). The event is an international academic conference in which industry, academia, and researchers and engineers from around the world participate in for exchanging technical information and results in the field of electronics and artificial intelligence. <Pukyong Today>
