PKNU selected for the 'university lecture support project for resolving local issues'

- support from Busan techno park for 2 lectures including <seminar on nanotechnology> and <theory on the police investigation>

Prof. Oh Pil-Gun and prof. Ham Hye-Hyeon.

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that two lectures were selected for the 'university lectures support project for resolving local issues' conducted by Busan techno park.

In this contest to select a total of 10 projects, Pukyong National University selected two lectures, 'seminar on nanotechnology' by professor Oh Pil-Gun (dept. of nanotechnology engineering) and 'theory on the police investigation' by professor Ham Hye-Hyeon (major of police and criminal psychology).

This 'university lecture support project for resolving local issues' is a project that selects and supports lectures that seek solutions to local issues in connection with university major courses. The purpose is to strengthen students' capabilities and lay the foundation for regional innovation through lectures on finding solutions to local issues.

Professor Oh Pil-Gun at Pukyong National University plans to give a lecture to nurture convergence talents in the secondary battery field, which is attracting attention as a next-generation industry as it is selected for this project. Through this lecture, Pukyong National University plans to support the development of high-tech industries in the region by producing field-oriented talent with comprehensive capabilities in applied fields such as nanomaterials, electricity, electronics, optics, life, and chemistry.

To prevent 'motiveless crime', which has recently emerged as a social problem, professor Ham Hye-Hyeon will provide a lecture based on criminal psychology to look for actual situations, causes, motivation, and countermeasures. She plans to work with police, prosecutors, citizens, and students to find causes not only from individuals but also from the bottom of the community, and to run joint research projects including investigative research, special lectures, seminars, and campaigns.

Pukyong National University plans to provide lectures from September to December with a budget of 7 million won per lecture. <Pukyong Today>
