The activities of the Pukyong National University student planning & evaluation group to systematically collect students' opinions and reflect them in university operations are attracting attention.

Pukyong National University announced that it selected 142 students to form 66 planning & evaluation teams for the 2023 school year and held an orientation at the Donwon Jang Bogo hall on September 1.

The Pukyong National University student planning & evaluation team, which first started in 2019 and is now in its 5th term, will meet with students from all departments and majors until October to investigate their satisfaction with all areas of campus life through individual and group interviews.

The student planning & evaluation team is a program designed to inspect and analyze the overall university from the perspective of students, who are demanders of education, and actively reflect the results of analysis in university operations to revamp the curriculum and expand opportunities for students to participate in educational policies.

Students in their second to fourth year of undergraduate school form teams and receive their opinions on the good points, problems, and improvements through 17 questions in five areas on liberal arts, major, academic management, core competencies and non-curricular subjects, and student support.

The positive response from students is also high due to the active activities of the student planning & evaluation team. Last year, 60 evaluation members directly interviewed 981 students, resulting in a total of 18,392 opinions, including positive opinions, problems, and areas for improvement. The average overall satisfaction with Pukyong National University rated by students who participated in the evaluation was 4.07 out of 5.

Pukyong National University plans to collect and analyze the scores and individual opinions derived in this way, share them with all members, and use them to improve curriculum and education policies. Pukyong National University is expanding the reflection of opinions by improving the classroom environment in response to students' requests. Pukyong National University plans to review and award the result reports and activity UCCs submitted by the evaluation team and encourage their activities.

Park Jong-Yong, director of executive office of future-ready education at Pukyong National University, said, "Starting from this year, we have expanded the window for collecting opinions, including adding international students and students from university newspaper team to the student planning evaluation team. We will do our best to contribute to the development of the university by actively expanding opportunities to reflect students’ opinions." <Pukyong Today>
