Pukyong National University team swept over the 4th Mine-Tech festa

- grand prize (1st place), best of the best prize (2nd place), and best prize at the innovation & technology competition

Pukyong National University students who received the 1st prize, 2nd prize and 3rd prize posing for a group photoshoot.

 

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) students took the first prize, second prize, and third prize at the 4th Mine-tech festa innovation & technology contest 2023 hosted by the Korea mine and rehabilitation and mineral resources corporation (KOMIR).

 

In this competition held at the headquarters of the Korea mine and rehabilitation and mineral resources corporation on September 6, Pukyong National University finally established itself as an innovation leading university by claiming three awards, the team of Kim Da-Won and Jeong Da-Hee, majoring energy resources at graduate school and Kim Yeon-Jae from the institute for energy resources research won the top prize, ph.D. student Kim Hyun-Moo won the second prize, and the undergraduate team of Yang Ho-Joon, Lee Jeong-Seo and Jang Min-Kyung won the third prize.

 

This competition, held to attract trained human resources and promote technological exchange for the resource industry, was held under the theme of 'Innovative technology and vision for the resource industry', and undergraduate (graduate) students in the fields of resources, geology, and environment participated and competed for research results and ideas on innovative technology.

 

The team of Kim Da-Won, Jeong Da-Hee and Kim Yeon-Jae from Pukyong National University received the first prize (awarded by president of the Korea mine and rehabilitation and mineral resources corporation), presented on the topic of 'prevention of safety accidents in gangue and improvement on transportation efficiency using DIY-IOT' (advisor Choi Yo-Soon) and received the highest rating from the evaluation group.

 

Along with this, Kim Hyun-Moo took the second place (awarded by president of the Mine reclamation association), received the award for 'research on the development and field demonstration of a multi-purpose autonomous exploration robot for underground mining' (advisor Choi Yo-Soon), and lastly, the team of Yang Ho-Joon, Lee Jeong-Seo, Jang Min-Kyung took the third place (president's award from Korea society of earth and exploration geophysicists), received the award for 'research on the development and use of augmented reality (AR) content for mine workers' (advisor Choi Yo-Soon). <Pukyong Today>
