Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) students carried out a 'mural painting volunteer work' on September 9th and 10th, decorating the campus, a popular walking spot for citizens.
About 140 people, including Pukyong National University's PKNU social contribution volunteer group, Jeolyoung club (means generosity that benefits others), and local youth, filled the 100m section wall between Engineering building #10 and the ROTC building at Yongdang campus with paintings through this volunteer work.
Pukyong National University Yongdang campus, located along Honggok mountain (122m), a low mountain in downtown Busan, is a walking spot frequently visited by residents living nearby because they can quickly reach the peak of Honggok mountain by passing engineering building #10 from the back gate and going around the main stadium.
Pukyong National University students planned this activity after discovering that the colors of the murals that had existed in this 100m section for a long time had faded, and freshly painted this section with murals featuring the four seasons and Pukyong National University characters.
The Pukyong National University PKNU social contribution volunteer group, which volunteers for the local community, and the Pukyong National University Jeolyoung club, who visit areas including Yeongdo in Busan to paint murals with the Kori nuclear power site at Korea hydro & nuclear power co., ltd. joined forces for this volunteer activity.
Lee Seung-Eun, (2nd year, major of maritime and fisheries business and economics), a member of the PKNU social contribution volunteer group, said, "I feel proud that I participated in renovating the campus that citizens enjoy together. I would be really happy if students and citizens could visit this space in a good mood." <Pukyong Today>
