Research of reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography column
Professor Jay Liu
A research paper related to reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography columns by Professor Jay Liu (Department of Chemical Engineering) at Pukyong National University has recently been spotlighted in the famous journal ’Chemical Reviews (IF= 52.613)’ of the American Chemical Society. This is the paper, ‘Column characterization and selection systems in reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography,’ which was published by Professor Jay Liu and Korean scientists. This paper has attracted the attention of the academic community by presenting the characterization and selection of a reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography column, and by suggesting the prospects for the related research. Celebrated scholars from all over the world had actively involved in this paper, including Professor Jay Liu, the head of research. Co-authors include Professor Roman Kaliszan and Tomasz B?czek of Gdansk Medical School, Professor Bogusław Buszewski of Nicholas Copernicus (Poland), and Professor Ming Wah Wong of National University of Singapore.
This paper introduces the advantages and disadvantages of the research results so far related to characterization and selection of columns used in RP-HPLC, the core of separation science, and suggests future research directions. RP-HPLC has the advantage of high reliability, is easy to operate, is relatively simple, and is the most widely used separation method due to its low cost. This research was conducted with the support of the National Research Foundation of Korea’s mainstay researcher support project. Professor Liu plans to promote future international joint research with co-authors on a column selection methodology that requires little experimentation, combining artificial intelligence and molecular simulation proposed in this paper. <기사 보러가기(클릭!)>
