On January 11, Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that it held the ‘library mileage scholarship award ceremony of 2022’.

At the scholarship ceremony, Pukyong National University Library gave 1 million won to the first prize winner, 800,000 won each to 2 excellence award winners, 500,000 won each to 5 excellent award winners, and 57 encouragement awardees to 200,000 to 400,000 won each, a total of 65 students were given scholarships worth 20 million won.

Since 2016, Pukyong National University has been operating a library mileage scholarship program every year for the purpose of revitalizing the use of university libraries and promoting a reading culture under the supervision of the library (director Kim Cheol-Soo) and selecting excellent students and providing scholarships.

The library mileage scholarship program is a system that selects students who have read a lot in the library over the past year and provides scholarships to excellent students who have participated in various events held by the library.

It is a method in which mileage is granted based on book and e-book rental records, library usage education, cultural events, participation in events such as surveys, participation in book clubs, and submission of reading reviews.

Kim Cheol-Soo, director of the library at Pukyong National University, said, “We are planning to continue the mileage scholarship program so that students can experience more reading and make the library the most familiar space for students.” <Pukyong Today>
