Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) operates an integrated after-school program including smart healthcare, sports classes, and marine leisure and water safety for local elementary school students.

On March 15th, Pukyong National University signed an agreement with the Busan metropolitan office of education for the 'integrated after-school program for elementary school students 2024 (universities operating community-linked Neulbom program)'.

With the comprehensive expansion of the 'Neulbom school' starting this year, the Busan metropolitan office of education and Pukyong National University have agreed through this agreement to enhance cooperation in elementary education and other areas within the local community, aiming to promote diversification of educational opportunities and balance in education development.

Starting with this agreement, Pukyong National University will provide various programs targeting 4th to 6th-grade students from local elementary schools starting from the upcoming summer vacation, programs including 'growth program in healthy body' in the field of smart healthcare, organized by the Institute for sports promotion (director Kim Young-Hoon), as well as futsal classes and various activities in marine leisure and water safety such as swimming, SUP, surfing, and rowing.

To ensure smooth program operation, Pukyong National University plans to actively utilize campus sports and smart healthcare facilities, and engage top experts in fields such as sports medicine and life health sciences to provide high-quality tailored and future-oriented programs focusing on training students' self-directed core competencies through education integrated with career paths.

Kim Young-Hoon, director of the Institute for sports promotion, said, "We will do our best to provide diverse educational opportunities by utilizing the university's excellent educators and professional facilities through this project, laying the foundation for nurturing future, healthy, and creatively integrated talents." <Pukyong Today>
