PKNU obtained the 'Excellent' in the annual comprehensive evaluation of the Supporting Program for University Innovation

- Incl. Additional Support of 2.45 billion won, 8 billion won of the project cost will be invested this year alone

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) achieved the highest grade of ‘A’ in the annual evaluation of the second year and the comprehensive evaluation of the first to third years of the Supporting Program for University Innovation implemented by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation.

The Support Project for University Innovation is a financial support project that supports the establishment of a future-oriented creative talent nurturing system that will lead the national innovative growth through autonomous innovation of universities in response to the coming changes in the future society. The project implementation period is from 2019 to 2021, and the recipients of support are 143 universities across the country.'

Pukyong National University has experience in promoting educational innovation, such as establishing local communities, future industries, national policies, and student-specific demand-based specialization directions according to the development plan, nurturing talents in response to new industries, and introducing a convergence education system that goes beyond a single discipline.

In this evaluation, Pukyong National University received excellent evaluations for its efforts to innovate knowledge-based education into competency-based education, in conjunction with the reform of the academic structure such as the establishment of the College of Information Technology and Convergence, the College of Liberal Arts, and the establishment of the integrated undergrad program, as well as the human resources and major education goals.

Pukyong National University will receive an additional 2.45 billion won through this evaluation, and plans to invest a total of 8 billion won for the support program this year. <Pukyong Today>
