부경대학교 화학과 박사과정에 재학 중인 터키유학생 Fatih Karadeniz 씨(27.지도교수 김세권)가 7월 13~14일 일본 동경에서 개최된 제24회 키틴키토산국제학술대회에서 우수논문상을 수상했다.
터키 Istanbul technical University의 분자생물학과를 졸업하고 생화학전공을 이수하기 위해 지난 2007년 부경대에 유학 온 Fatih Karadeniz 씨는 세계 10개국 300여명이 참가한 이번 국제학술대회서 논문 ‘인간 위암세포에 대한 키토산올리고당 아미노유도체의 암 증식 억제효과(Antiproliferative effect of aminoderivatized chitooligosaccharides on AGS human gastric cancer cells)’로 우수논문상을 수상했다.
그는 기존의 키토산올리고당이 가지고 있는 암 억제효과를 증진시키기 위해 암세포 증식에 있어 중요한 역할을 하는 발암유전자인 Bcl-2(B-cell lymphoma 2)의 발현 억제효과에 대한 연구로 암 치료 관련 분야에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.<부경투데이>
Cancer Treatment Research Receives Worldwide “Recognition.”
Fatih Karadeniz, a student in a doctoral degree program at PKNU was awarded for his paper in a Japanese international academic conference.
He was recognized by his contribution to the field of cancer treatment through researching on suppressing Bcl-2 (B-cell lymphoma 2), which is a proto-oncogene that plays a key role in proliferating tumor cells, in order to increase the cancer suppression effect of chitooligosaccharides.<Translator ; Park Si Hyeong, heartfulmind@naver.com>
