기술경영(MOT:Management of Technology)대학원이 동남권에서는 부경대학교에 처음 개설된다. 지식경제부와 한국산업기술진흥원(KIAT)은 21일 2011년도 ‘기술경영(MOT)일반대학원 개설·지원사업’ 지원대학으로 부경대학교, 서울대학교, 성균관대학교 등 3개 대학을 선정했다. 이 지원사업이 시작된 이후 국립대로는 서울대(2006년), 전남대(2010년)에 이어 세 번째로 부경대가 이번에 선정됐으며 동남권 대학으로는 처음 선정된 것이다. '이공계의 MBA'로 불리는 MOT는 공학기반으로 학제간·기술간 융합형 기술경영 학위과정을 통해 기술기반의 경영마인드를 갖추고 글로벌 트렌드에 따라 기업의 기술혁신을 이끌 실무 중심의 융합형(π형) 고급인재를 양성하는 것이 목적이다. 전국 8개 대학의 치열한 경합 속에 동남권에서는 유일하게 선정된 부경대 MOT대학원은 동남광역경제권 기업의 수요에 부응하는 맞춤형 기술경영 전문인력을 양성ㆍ배출하여 기술혁신과 산업경쟁력 제고를 통해 동남권 경제의 활성화에 디딤돌이 될 것으로 기대된다. 지식경제부는 향후 4년간 연간 최대 4억 원을 지원할 예정이며, 사업완료 후 평가 결과에 따라 전문대학원 체제로 전환해 연간 최대 15억 원을 추가 지원할 계획이다.
한편 지난 2006년 처음 시행된 MOT대학원 개설 지원사업에서 서울대, 포스텍, 성균관대, 한국기술교육대가 1차로 선정됐으며, 2010년에는 고려대, 서강대, 한양대(이상 전문대학원), 전남대 및 한국기술교육대가 2차 선정된 바 있다. 이로써 현재 MOT대학원은 전국적으로 3개 전문대학원과 5개 일반대학원이 개설ㆍ지원을 받게 되었다.<부경투데이> MOT (Management of Technology) school will be founded in PKNU for the first time in the Southeast side of Korea. Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) selected 3 universities including PKNU, Seoul National University, and Sungkyunkwan University as the suitable places for building and supporting MOT school of 2011 on April 21st. Since this project was stared, Seoul National University was selected in 2006, and Chonnam National University was chosen for the second time among national universities. After that, PKNU was picked up as the proper university for undertaking this planned work, and PKNU was selected for the first time in the Southeast side of Korea. This project is based on the engineering science between the school system and the technology. The objective of this planned work is to train many high-quality human resources who are able to help the companies to bring about technological innovation. They should have proper business savvy and know global trend through the course of study in MOT school. In the face of the stiff competition of 8 universities in Korea, MOT school in PKNU is going to be served as a stepping stone for the rapid economic growth in the Southeast side of Korea by educating and producing many professionals who will be able to meet a demand. Ministry of Knowledge Economy is going to offer almost 400 million won per year over the next four years. After finishing this project, it will support 1.5 billion according to the evaluation results. He is the chief of the organization for carrying forward this business, which is to set up MOT school in PKNU, Park Pyeong Mu, and the professor of department of systems management and engineering. He spoke as follows. “I want to strive to educate many outstanding individuals by cooperating with many organizations including City of Busan, Busan Techno Park. Also, it is necessary to collaborate with excellent local companies including Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Corporation, S&T (Science and Technology) Daewoo, Hwaseeung Group. We will reinforce to build up a network for the regional innovation based on innovative cluster,” Meanwhile, this project to establish MOT school was started out in 2006. At that time, Seoul National University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Sungkyunkwan University, and Korea University of Technology and Education were selected for the first time. In 2010, Korea University, Sogang University, Hanyang University, Chonnam National University were chosen. 부경대 MOT대학원 추진사업단 박병무 단장(시스템경영공학과 교수·사진)은 “앞으로 부산광역시를 비롯, 부산테크노파크, 동남광역경제권 선도산업지원단 등 각 기관 단체와 대우조선해양, S&T대우, 화승그룹 등 지역우수기업체의 협력을 통해 기술경영 지역혁신 클러스터 네트워크 구축을 강화해 우수 인재양성에 매진할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
