부경대 언어교육원(원장 박순혁) 주관으로 재학생들의 외국어능력을 향상하기 위한 열린 이번 프로그램에는 영어 6개 반 84명, 일어 1개 반 14명 등 총 98명의 재학생들이 참가했다. 이들은 6월 27일부터 4주간 대연캠퍼스 학생생활관 세종관에 합숙하면서 매일 7시간 이상 영어 및 일본어 원어민 강사와 집중회화 수업 및 특별활동 프로그램을 이수했다. 프로그램을 수료한 학생들에게는 영역별로 ‘집중영어회화’ 및 ‘집중일어회화’ 계절학기 3학점을 인정하며, 우수 연수생에게는 총장 명의의 상장 및 상품을 수여했다. 영어 집중연수 프로그램에 참가한 장유리 학생(법학과 3학년)은 “해외에 나가지 않고도 한 달 동안 원어민 강사와 매일 영어로 말하고, 듣고, 읽고, 쓰면서 영어에 대한 자신감이 생겼다.”고 말했다. 언어교육원은 1997년부터 여름, 겨울 방학 각 4주간, 매년 2회씩 재학생 외국어능력 향상 장학프로그램의 일환으로 집중어학연수 프로그램을 개최하고 있다.<부경투데이> The closing ceremony of 2011 Pukyong Cultural Exchange Program was held at the lecture room on the fourth floor of Hyangpa Building in PKNU on July 22nd. 98 PKNU students including 84 students who took part in 6 English classes and 14 students who took a Japanese class participated in this program which was run by Foreign Language Center which director is Park Sun Hyeok. This program was made to help the students to improve their foreign languages conversation ability. The students stayed at the dormitory which is named Sejong Gwan in Daeyeon campus for 4 weeks from June 27th. They had to participate in intensive English and Japanese conversation classes 7 hours a day and they also had to take part in the extracurricular activities with native English speaking instructors and native Japanese speaking instructors. The students who took part in this program will receive 3 credits as a summer session by being officially approved as an intensive English conversation class and an intensive Japanese conversation class. In addition, the most talented students among all of the participants were granted the certificate of merit and the prize from the president of PKNU. Jang Yu Ri, who is one of the participants and a student of department of law as a junior, spoke as follows. “Even though I have never gone abroad for language studies, I can get a lot of confidence to speak foreign language by taking part in this program, because I had to use English only to talk to native English speaking instructors for about one month.” Foreign Language Center has run these intensive foreign language conversation classes every summer and winter for 4 weeks to help PKNU students to improve their foreign language conversation ability since 1997. <Pukyong Today> <translator; Park Ha Won, dhzl0121@naver.com> |
