부산 지역 최초의 사범계 학과로 출발한 부경대학교 수해양산업교육과(전신 수산교육과) 설립 50주년을 기념하는 홈커밍데이가 열렸다.

부경대학교 수해양산업교육과 동창회(회장 강성룡·74학번)는 7월 21일 오후 4시 부경대학교 비스타스호텔에서 100여명의 동문이 참석한 가운데 홈커밍데이 행사를 열었다.

‘수산교육 반세기 - 우리의 사랑, 우리의 자랑’이라는 캐치프레이즈로 열린 이날 행사는 강성룡 회장의 개회사를 시작으로 박맹언 총장과 이춘우 수산과학대학장의 축사, 학과 현황보고, 각 기별 소개, 총회, 동문의 밤 등의 순으로 진행됐다. 수해양산업교육과 김삼곤 교수 정년퇴임식도 피로연 식전 행사로 열렸다.

모처럼 교정을 찾은 동문들은 과거와 크게 달라진 아늑한 교정을 둘러보면서 추억을 되새기며 흥겨운 시간을 보냈다.

수해양산업교육과는 1963년 중등학교 교사 및 수해양산업분야 고급인력을 양성하기 위해  신설된 부산지역 최초 사범계 학과다.

그동안 졸업생들은 중·고등학교 및 전문교육기관에서 수해양산업분야의 전문인력 양성을 위해 헌신해왔다. 2003년 학과 명칭을 수산교육과에서 수해양산업교육과로 바꾸었다. 어업공학전공, 양식공학전공, 식품공학전공, 기관공학전공, 냉동공학전공 등 5개 전공이 있다.

강성룡 회장(74학번·풀무원 부산지사장)은 인사말을 통해 “우리 학과는 지금까지 1,000여명의 동문을 배출하며 우리나라 수산산업을 이끈 인재를 키운 수산교육의 요람”이라면서 “동문들의 화합과 단결로 학과와 대학의 발전에 기여하자.”고 강조했다.

박맹언 총장은 “수해양산업교육과는 2002년부터 5년 단위의 사범계학과 평가에서 3차례에 걸쳐 최우수학과로 선정되는 쾌거를 이룬 고등교육의 선도적 역할을 하는 명문학과”라면서, “우리나라 수산교육의 메카인 수해양산업교육과의 무궁한 발전을 기원한다.”고 말했다.<부경투데이>

Fisheries and Marine industry education hold a ’Homecoming day’ for the 50th anniversary
- Around 100 alumni attended. They had a good time with events such as a talent show and so on.

The Homecoming day of PKNU marine and fisheries industry education, which started as the first university of education in Busan, was held on the 50th anniversary of its foundation.

The reunion of PKNU marine and fisheries industry education (represented by Kang Sung Ryong, the class of ’74) held the Homecoming day at 4pm on the 21st July in the Vistas hotel with around 100 alumni attending.

This event, which has the catchphrase of "Half century of fisheries education - our love and our proud", started with an opening speech from representative Kang Sung Ryong, and proceeded in order of congratulatory messages from Park Meang Eon, the President of PKNU, and Lee Chun Woo, the Head of Marine and Fisheries Industry Education, department’s status report, introducing each class, a general meeting, and the night of alumni. A retirement ceremony for Professor Kim Sam Kon in the department had also been held before the banquet.

The alumni who visited this campus after a long absence had a good time looking back on the past, on a campus that has changed greatly.

The marine and fisheries industry education was the first department of education in Busan which was founded in 1963 in order to train middle school teachers and high-quality human resources in the field of industry for marine and fisheries.

University graduates devoted themselves to training high-quality human resources in the field of industry for marine and fisheries in middle or high school and professional educational institutions. In 2003, they changed the name of the department from ’Department of Fisheries Education’ to ’Department of Marine and Fisheries iIndustry Education’. It has 5 majors such as fisheries engineering, fisheries raising engineering, food engineering, engineering for engine, and refrigerating engineering.

Kang Sung Ryong (the class of ’74, Pulmuone Busan branch manager) emphasized the importance of the department by saying, “As this department is the birthplace of fisheries education that produced around 1000 alumni who are outstanding leaders of the fisheries industry, we need to contribute to the development of this department and university with harmony and solidarity of alumni”<Pukyong Today>
