독도사랑, '사행시'에 담았어요(Put Love for Dok-do on the Quatrain)

독 : 독야청청 외로운 섬 하나 있어 독도라 했단다.
도 : 도요새 날아들고 슴새 지저귀는 새들의 고향이랬지.
생 : 생떼 쓰는 파도가 자꾸만 부딪쳐 보지만
각 : 각고의 세월에도 묵묵히 푸르렀단다.

부경대학교가 ‘독도생각’을 시제로 실시한 독도사랑 사행시 공모전에서 대상을 받은 작품이다. 주인공은 부경대 대학원 사학과 이창우 씨(26세).

이 씨는 아름다운 자연인 독도를 영토문제로 비화시켜 양국 갈등을 조장하는 주체에 대한 안타까움을 서정적인 시어로 표현해 영예의 대상을 안았다.

이번 독도사랑 사행시 공모전은 대한제국 칙령 제41호에 의해 독도와 울릉도가 울도군으로 승격된 1900년 10월 25일을 기념하여 우리 땅 독도에 대한 관심 확산과 국토사랑 정신을 고양하기 위한 것이다.

지난 10월 17일부터 7일간 열린 부경대학교 학생 등을 대상으로 열린 이번 공모전에는 모두 430편이 접수돼 독도에 대한 대학생들의 뜨거운 관심을 반영했다. 응모작 중에는 독도의 아름다움을 예찬한 글을 비롯, 독도의 역사 인식에 대한 자기반성을 담은 글이 많았다. 한 응모자는 “어느 날 외국인이 독도 역사를 물어봤는데 잘 몰라서 부끄러웠다”면서, “마음으로만 독도 사랑을 외칠 것이 아니라 독도 역사부터 잘 알아야겠다.”고 각오를 밝히기도 했다.

대상에 이어 최우수상은 강슬지(24세․법학과 4학년) 오선호(27세․대학원 신소재시스템공학과) 씨 등 2명이, 우수상은 노혜미(26세․해양산업경영학과 2012년 졸업) 씨 등 10명이 받았다. 대상에게는 문화상품권 30만원, 최우수상 문화상품권 각 10만원, 우수상 문화상품권 각 5만원씩의 부상을 수여한다.

수상작 13편은 독도 실시간 영상시스템이 설치된 부경대학교 동원장보고관과 공학도서관 로비에 전시된다.

부경대 관계자는 “이번 공모전을 계기로 독도에 대한 대학생들의 관심과 사랑이 더 깊어질 것으로 기대한다.”고 밝혔다.<부경투데이>

The recipient of the grand award of Dok-do quatrain is Chang-woo Lee (26 years old), a graduate student of the Department of History.

Mr. Lee lyrically expressed sadness toward the main agent causing dispute of territory with a metaphor of beauty of Dok-do, and he got the grand award.

The poetry event is for enhancing interest about our territory and spreading love for Dok-do by celebrating the day of elevation of the status of Dok-do and Ulleungdo to Uldo Gun as the 41st Korean empire's order on 25th October 1900.

430 quatrain were submitted for this competition for a week from the 17th October, so it reflects the interest about Dok-do of students. Among the candidates, there were many poems about the beauty of the island, and historical awareness and regret about themselves. "I felt ashamed when a foreigner asked about the history of Dok-do, and I couldn't say anything about it. But to know history about it," one of the candidates said.

Following up the grand award, Sul-ji Kang (24 years old, 4th grade, department of law), and Sun-ho Oh (a 27 year old graduate student of new materials engineering) got the best excellence awards and 10 people including Hye-mi Noh (26, department of ocean industry management, who graduated this year) got the excellence awards. The prizes were a 300,000 won gift certificate for the grand award, 100,000 won for the best excellence award, and 50,000 won for the excellence award.

13 prize-winning works will be exhibited in the lobby of the Engineering Library in the Dongwon Jangbogo building where a real-time video of Dok-do is located.
