자동차를 매개로 인문학과 공학의 관계를 탐색하는 이색강의가 신학기 대학가에 등장해 화제다.
부경대학교가 3월부터 개설하는 2학점짜리 교양 강의「인간과 자동차」가 그것이다.
이 강의는 오늘날 우리 생활의 중요한 축이 되고 있는 자동차를 테마로 인문학과 공학기술의 융합을 통해 과학기술과 인간과의 관계를 탐구한다.
특히 이 강의에는 국어국문학을 비롯 디자인, 사학, 신문방송학, 다물체동력학, 전산유체역학 등 인문학과 공학을 전공한 교수 6명이 참여해 돌아가며 강의를 진행한다.
국어국문학과 채영희 교수, 사학과 신명호 교수, 신문방송학과 오창호 교수, 시각디자인학과 홍동식 교수, 기계자동차공학과의 손정현‧이연원 교수가 그들.
강의 내용도 흥미진진하다. △인문학과 자동차가 만나다, △인문학은 과학기술을 어떻게 번역하는가? △탈 것의 역사는 어떻게 시작되었는가? △자동차는 도구인가 무기인가? △자동차 디자인은 어떻게 변화했는가? △자동차의 구조는 어떻게 되어 있는가? △자동차의 엔진은 어떻게 진화했는가? 등의 주제가 한 학기동안 이어진다.
 강의에 공동으로 참여하는 교수들은 이번 강좌를 위해 교재도 직접 썼다. 「자동차 인문학을 품다」(GS인터비전 발간)가 그것.
이 강좌는 공학기술의 객관성과 비판적 질문을 생성하는 인문학의 협력을 통해 창의적 인재를 양성하는 데 목적이 있다.
채영희 교수는 “자동차 없는 세상을 상상하기 힘들 정도로 자동차는 인간 생활의 중심에 있지만 정작 자동차에 대해 너무 무지한 것이 사실.”이라면서, “이번 인문학과 공학의 융합이 공학도에게도 인문학도에게도 폭넓은 지식을 제공해주고 서로의 안목을 넓혀주는 계기가 되기를 바란다.”고 말했다.<부경투데이>

A special lecture finding the relationship between humanities and engineers will start from this semester.
"Human and Car" which is worth 2 credits will be offered at Pukyong National University from this March.
This lecture has cars as a subject, as they have been important to humans, and will do research about the relationship between humanities and engineering through a fusion of both subjects.
In addition, this lecture will be taught by 6 professors from different departments such as the Korean Language and Literature Department, Design Department, Journalism and Broadcasting Department, History Department, Multibody System Dynamics Department, and the Computational Fluid Dynamics Department.
Young-Hui Chae from the Korean Language and Literature Department, Myung-ho Shin from the History Department, Chang-Ho Oh from the Journalism and Broadcasting Department, Dong-Sik Hong from the Design Department, and Jeong-Hyun Sohn, and Yeon-Won Lee from the Mechanical Automotive Engineering Department will be in charge of the lectures.
The contents of the lectures will be interesting. △ When cars meet humanities?, △ How humanities translate technology?, △ Are cars a tool or a weapon?, △ How has the design of cars changed?, △What is the structure of cars?, △ How have car engines changed? All these subjects will be discussed in this class.
The professors also wrote a class textbook by themselves. "Car bares Humanities" published by GS intervision, is the title of the book.
The purpose of this class is to make creative students through the objectivity of engineering and the critical thinking of humanities.
"I can’t even imagine a life without cars. However, even though cars are just in the center of our lives, people don’t have much knowledge about cars. I hope this class will be a chance to offer broad knowledge through the fusion of humanities and engineering, and to broaden their insight," professor Young-Hui Chae said.
