해양바이오와 LED(발광다이오드) 학문을 융합 교육하는 과학기술융합전문대학원이 국내 최초로 부경대학교에 신설된다.
부경대학교(총장 김영섭)는 6일 교육부가 부경대의 과학기술융합전문대학원 신설계획을 최종 승인했다고 밝혔다.
전문대학원은 통합적인 학문지식과 실무능력을 갖춘 전문가 양성을 목적으로 하는 새로운 개념의 대학원으로 2년 과정을 이수하면 전문석사학위가 주어진다.
부경대 과학기술융합전문대학원은 미래 핵심 산업으로 부상하는 해양생명과학인 해양바이오와 꿈의 조명으로 불리는 LED(발광다이오드)를 접목시켜 LED해양융합기술 개발 등 차세대 새로운 성장 동력을 창출할 전문 인력을 양성하는 것이 목적이다.
2014년 3월부터 개설되는 이 전문대학원은 △해양바이오융합과학전공과 △LED융합공학전공 등 2개 석사과정을 두며 정원은 모두 30명이다. 오는 10월 신입생 모집에 들어간다.
해양바이오융합과학전공은 이용 잠재력이 큰 차세대 신물질 개발의 보루인 해양생명자원을 기반으로 새로운 해양바이오 산업을 이끌어갈 해양바이오 전문인력을 양성한다.
LED융합공학전공은 LED와 해양수산 과학기술 간의 융합을 통해 LED광소자, LED조명, LED융합, LED특성 및 신뢰도 평가, 표준 분야의 기술 및 신제품 개발을 주도할 고급 인력을 양성한다.
부경대는 이 전문대학원 교육과정에 70년을 넘게 교육·연구해온 해양수산분야 국내 최고 연구력과 국책사업인 국내 유일의 LED-해양융합기술연구센터 및 해양바이오프로세스연구단의 집적된 연구 성과를 접목시켜 특성화된 최고 수준의 전문 인력을 양성한다는 전략이다.<부경투데이>

The special graduate school of convergence science & technology which is about the study of fusion technology of marine biology and LED will be established in Pukyong National University as the first in domestic.
Pukyong National University (President Kim Young-Seup) confirmednoticed that it the plan to establish a special graduate school of convergence science & technology on the 6th of this month has been approved by the Mministry of Eeducation. about the plan of newly establishing a special graduate school of convergence science & technology at 6th of this month.
The graduate school is for developing talented people who have academic knowledge and executive ability, and it has two-years diploma course system to get the master degree of its study.
The graduate school, established by PKNU, is for training making experts who can create a new growth engine such as LED-Marine fusion technology by grafting marine biology which isis the future core industry ofn LED which isas known as the light of dream.
This school, starting from Mmarch of 2014, hasve two courses: major of marine biology fusion science and major of LED fusion engineering. Each of the majors have a30 of fixed number of 30 people and will start to recruit freshman from thiscoming October.
The major of marine biology fusion science is for training experts who will lead the new marine biology industry with marine resources which is bastion of the next-generation material as it has a great potential of utility.
The major of LED fusion engineering will train high-quality people who will lead the study of optical devices, lights, fusion, as well asand characteristics of LED and its reliability estimation in order to develop new products and technology of standard fields through the fusion of LED and marine biology science and technology.
Pukyong National University aims to train the top-level experts by grafting its research power in the fisheries field which has developed/grown over the pastaccumulated for 70 years, based on the performance from previous researches of the LED-Marine Fusion Technology Research Center and Marine Biology Process Research Team.<Pukyong today>
