이는 29일 교육부와 한국교육개발원이 발표한 ‘고등교육기관 졸업자 건강보험 데이터베이스 연계 취업통계’ 자료에 나온 순위다. 이 순위는 지난해 8월과 올해 2월 졸업한 전국 552개 고등교육기관 졸업자 55만5천142명의 취업률을 조사한 결과다.
국립과 사립을 포함한 ‘가’ 그룹 32개 대학에서 부경대는 15위다. 부산대와 공동 15위였다. 부경대는 지난해 21위에서 올해는 6단계 상승했다. 이번 부경대의 취업률은 지난해 53.3%, 2011년도 57.4%보다 다소 감소했다. 대학원 취업률은 61.2%를 기록했다.
학과별로는 해양공학과가 89.3%로 1위였다. 그 뒤를 이어 유아교육과(86.7%), 조선해양시스템공학 과(85.7%), 냉동공조공학과( 80.8%), 기계공학과(74.7%), 인쇄정보공학과(야)(73.9%), 시스템경영공학과(72.3%) 순으로 70% 이상의 높은 취업률을 보였다. 부경대는 지속적인 취업률 향상을 위해 단발성 취업프로그램 운영에서 벗어나 정규 교육과정인 취업교과목을 강화하는 등 체계적인 진로지도를 통해 학생들의 취업역량을 높이기로 했다.

Pukyong National University shared fifteenth place with Busan National University, among all universities in the ’Ga’ group Pukyong National University was placed fourth in the ‘Ga’ group for its employment rate among all domestic universities which have more than 3000 graduates. This result is from the survey employment statics based on higher education institution graduates’ health insurance database’ which was conducted by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Education Development Institute. The survey was conducted to check the employment rate from 555 142 graduates who graduated last summer and this winter from 552 higher education institutions in Korea. The rate of PKNU is 52.6% this year. It ranked fourth following Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Seoul National University, and Chungbuk National University among the 12 domestic national universities which have more than 3000 graduates in the ’Ga’ group. In the survey of the thirty two universities in the ’Ga’ group, including not only national universities but private ones, PKNU was placed fifteenth together with Busan National University. Thus, the position has risen by six places compared with last year when they were in twenty- first place. PKNU recorded a rate of 53.3% last year which was a little bit down from 2011 which was 57.4%. It recorded 61.2% in the rate of graduated employment. The Ocean Engineering Department came in first with an 89.3% employment rate among PKNU departments. Other departments also proved their strength with employment rates of more than 70%: Department of Early Childhood Education (86.7%), Naval Architecture & Marine Systems Engineering (85.7%), Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineering (80.8%), Mechanical Engineering (74.7%), Night class of Graphic Arts Information Engineering (73,9%), and Systems Management and Engineering (72.3%). PKNU decided to improve its students’ employment capabilities and raise its employment rates consistently, not with a one-time employment support program, but with methodical career guidance such as developing subjects related to getting a job, which is now part of the regular school curriculum. In addition, PKNU will build an integrated career path planning system which can provide students with an opportunity to make a career portfolio according to their individual level. The system will make a database for students by analyzing their job competencies (with the result of competences diagnostic test for university students.
