이는 네덜란드 라이덴 대학이 2009∼2012년까지 4년간 모두 1,000편 이상의 논문을 발표한 세계 상위 750개 대학(국내 26개 대학) 논문 중 가장 많이 인용된 상위 10% 논문 비율을 조사한 결과다. 부경대는 생명과학분야 논문 213편 중 인용비율 11.2%로 국내 대학 1위에 랭크됐다. 이는 213편의 논문 중 11.2%인 24편이 인용횟수 상위 10%에 들었다는 뜻이다. 그만큼 부경대의 생명과학분야 논문이 세계적으로 많이 인용될 만큼 질적 수준이 높다는 것을 말한다. 부경대에 이어 포스텍(9.6%), KAIST(9.5%), 이화여대(7.7%), 경희대(7.6%), 서울대(6.4%), 연세대(5.9%), 건국대(5.7%), 충북대(5.7%), 성균관대(5.5%)가 톱 10위에 들었다. 세계 1위는 미국 MIT였다. 라이덴 랭킹 평가대상 학문은 생명과학을 비롯 인지과학, 지구·환경과학, 수리·컴퓨터과학·공학, 의학, 자연과학, 사회과학 등 7개 분야다. 부경대는 7개 분야에서 모두 1,039편의 논문을 발표, 인용상위(10%) 논문비율 6.3%로 국내 대학 중에서 11위를 기록했다. 포스텍이 11.9%로 1위였다. 이어 KAIST(10.3%), 이화여대(10.1%), GIST(8.3%), 서울대(7.4%), 성균관대(6.9%), 울산대(6.8%), 연세대(6.7%), 경희대(6.5%), 경상대(6.4) 순이었다. 이 평가는 라이덴대학 과학기술연구소가 학술정보서비스기업 톰슨 로이터(Thomson Reuters)의 데이터베이스에서 인용되는 논문 비율을 조사한 것이다. 논문 인용 횟수가 평가 기준이기 때문에 대학 교수들의 연구의 질을 보다 객관적이고 정확하게 평가한다는 인정을 받고 있다.<부경투데이> Pukyong National University recorded the top rank domestically and the 5th in Asia in the life science area of Leiden Ranking that evaluates world universities based on international thesis. Leiden Ranking is the result achieved from researching thesis in the high 10% quoted most among those of 750 high universities all over the world (26 universities domestically) having presented more than 1,000 thesis for 4years from 2009 to 2012 by the Science and Technology Institute of Leiden University in Netherlands. Pukyong National University got its top rank, taking up 11.2% of quoting rate out of 213 thesis in life science area, which means 24 thesis out of 213 were in the top 10%. This indicates the qualities of thesis of Pukyong National University in the area of life science is as high as they are cited all over the world. Pukyong National University was followed by POSTECH(9.6%), KAIST(9.5%), Ewha Womans University(7.7%), Kyunghee University(7.6%), Seoul National University(6.4%), Yonsei University(5.9%), Konkuk Univeristy(5.7%), Chungbuk University(5.7%), and Sungkyunkwan Univeristy(5.5%) and the world top ranking was MIT of USA. Liden Ranking includes 7 different subjects on its assessment; cognitive science, earth and environmental science, mathematical and computer science and engineering, medical science, natural science, social science, and life science. Pukyong National University presented total 1,039 thesis in the 7 areas above and recorded 11th among domestic universities, accounting for 6.3% of quoting rate. The top ranking was POSTECH and it was followed by KAIST(10.3%), Ewha Womans University(10.1%), GIST(8.3%), Seoul National University(7.4%), Sungkyunkwan University(6.9%), Ulsan University(6.8%), Yonsei University(6.7%), Kyunghee University(6.5%), and Kyungsang University(6.4%) This assessment was carried out by the Institute of Science and Technology of Leiden University, based on the rate of thesis being quoted in database of Thomson Reuters, the academic information service company. Because only the number of the thesis being quoted is applied to the assessment, the ranking has been recognized as an objective and accurate measuring system on the quality of faculty’s thesis.<Pukyong Today> |
