부경대학교가 한국장학재단 주관 2014 지식나눔 우수대학으로 지정됐다. 지정 기간은 3년.

지식나눔 우수대학 지정 사업은 한국장학재단이 운영하는 대학생 지식나눔 사업에 참여하는 대학을 대상으로 우수 대학을 지정해 시상한다.

이번 평가에서 부경대는 ‘대학생 지식멘토링 사업’과 ‘대학생 청소년교육지원 사업’을 운영하며 지식나눔 문화 확대 및 소외계층 지원을 강화하고, 사회봉사리더십센터를 신설하는 등 노력과 성과를 인정받았다.

부경대가 2012년에 운영한 대학생 지식멘토링 사업은 대학생이 멘토가 되어 전문지식과 경험을 활용해 멘티인 초․중‧고교생들에게 2개월여에 걸쳐 학습지도 및 진로상담 등 멘토링 활동을 한 사업이다.

이 사업에 참가한 부경대생 600여명은 부산지역 아동센터 및 사회복지시설 130여 곳을 방문해 매일 1~4시간씩 국어, 영어, 수학, 체육 등 다양한 과목을 가르치는 지식 나눔 활동을 펼쳤다.

이와 함께 2013년에는 소외지역 학생들을 직접 찾아가거나 대학에 초청해 멘토링 활동을 펼치는 대학생 청소년교육지원 사업을 통해 진로고민 상담 등 활동도 활발하게 진행했다.

2014년부터는 다문화·탈북학생 멘토링 사업에 신규 참여해 다문화가정 및 학생에 대한 이해심과 봉사의식을 제고하는 등 지식나눔 사업을 확대 운영하고 있다.

부경대는 이번 지정에 앞서 지난 3월 교육부로부터 교육기부 우수기관으로 인증(3년) 받는 등 교육을 통한 사회적 기여 분야에서 좋은 평가를 받고 있다.<부경투데이>

- Recognized achievements such as knowledge volunteering activities

Pukyong National University has been chosen as an excellent knowledge sharing university in 2014 by Korea Student Aid Foundation and it will go into effect for 3 years.

This project of designating knowledge sharing excellent university appoints and awards excellent ones among universities participating in knowledge sharing projects run by Korea Student Aid Foundation.  
Pukyong National University has been highly recognized with its various efforts and achievements in this assessment through enhancing supports for neglected people, expanding the culture of knowledge sharing by running ‘University Students Knowledge Mentoring Program,’ and ‘University Students Youth Education Support Program’ and newly opening Social Volunteering Leadership Center.   

University students knowledge mentoring program run by Pukyong National University in 2012 was mentoring activities that mentors (university students) gave learning instructions and career counselling to mentees (elementary, middle and highschool students) utilizing their expertise and various experiences for 2 months.

600 students of PKNU who participated in this program performed knowledge sharing activities, visiting about 130 social welfare organizations and child centers in Busan area and teaching various subjects such as Korean, English, math and physical education for 1~4 hours a day.

Besides, they conducted University Students Youth Education Support Program in 2013, including career counselling and mentoring activities by visiting students in neglected areas or inviting them to the university.

The university has expanded the knowledge sharing program from 2014 by newly taking part in another mentoring program for students of multiple cultures and from North Korea that can contribute to understanding of multiple cultures families or students and improving awareness of volunteering.

Pukyong National University, prior to this designation, was certified as an excellent organization for education donation by Ministry of Education in March and has been highly evaluated in social contributing field through education.<Pukyong today>
