청년드림대학은 청년들에게 꿈을 주는 대학이라는 뜻. 동아일보와 채널A, 딜로이트컨설팅 등이 재학생들의 취업, 창업을 지원하는 대학의 의지와 역량을 평가하는 프로그램이다. 지난해 처음 시행됐다. 부경대는 지난해에 이어 2년 연속 선정됐다. 동아일보는 8월 26일자 1면 톱기사를 통해 전국 198개 4년제 대학 가운데 취업 창업과 관련된 인프라, 재학생의 이용률과 만족도 조사를 통해 취업 및 창업 지원역량이 높은 부경대를 비롯한 청년드림대학 49개 대학을 선정 발표했다. 동아일보는 이날 기사에서 “청년드림대학은 학생들의 진로 탐색 및 경력설계를 맞춤형으로 지원하고 다양한 직업 체험기회를 제공하며 취업 창업에 관심을 쏟아 교과과정을 짜거나 동아리를 지원할 때 특화된 전략을 발휘했다는 평가를 받았다.”고 밝혔다. 한편 이번 평가에서 부산지역 대학 중에는 4개 대학이 선정됐다. 부경대 부산대 동아대 등 3개 대학이 ‘청년드림대학’으로, 동서대가 ‘우수 청년드림대학’으로 뽑혔다.<부경투데이> Pukyong National University (president Kim Young Seup) has been chosen as a ‘Youth Dream University.’ ‘Youth Dream University’ means a university that gives hope and dream to youth. Dong-A Ilbo announced, “‘Youth Dream University’ has received a high reputation, supporting students’ career exploration and career planning programs, offering opportunities to experience diverse careers, and dominant at specialized strategies on planning curriculums and applying for clubs.” in the article. “Pukyong National University is now offering employment support services on demand from entrance to graduation such as ‘Self Development and Career Planning,’ ‘Employment Strategy,’ and ‘Career Design for Women,’” director Park Hyun Ki of Human Resources Development Group of PKNU said, “In addition to ‘Communication Capacity Improvement’ and ‘Clubs for Employment,’ Pukyong National University also runs ‘University Student Employment Center’ in cooperation with Ministry of Employment and Labor and ‘Student Career Management System’ for portfolio making. Meanwhile, 4 universities in Busan were selected in this evaluation. Pukyong National University, Busan National University, and Donga University were chosen as ‘Youth Dream University,’ and Dongseo University as ‘Excellent Youth Dream University.’ “Pukyong National University is the only one without college of medicine, dental college, college of pharmacy, law school and college of education that are all advantageous to employment among national universities in group ‘Ga’,” director Park Hyun Ki of Human Resources Development Group of PKNU said, “PKNU’s top rank of employment rate, in spite of its unfavorable condition, proves its prominent academic characterization.” The high employment rate of Pukyong National University was remarkable in the department of Nursing, Ocean Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Pukyong National University is now offering employment support service on demand from entrance to graduation to help graduates go into the world. ‘Self Development and Career Planning,’ (the lower grades) ‘Employment Strategy,’ (the upper grades) and ‘Career Design for Women’ (female students) are being offered as employment subjects and diverse programs for communication capacity improvement and employment club capacity improvement are also being promoted.
